This study questions the place of women in the activities of the fight against soil degradation in the rural commune of Simiri. Its specific objectives are to assess the types of interventions that are carried out in the rural commune of Simiri, determine the role of women in these activities and assess the contribution of these activities to the productive status of the beneficiary women and to the gender relations. Quantitative and qualitative survey tools are used, in particular questionnaires, interviews and direct field observations. The results highlight a strong involvement of women in the activities, a strengthening of their participation in the material support of the household and in the decision-making process within the family.

Abstract

La présente étude s’interroge sur la place des femmes au sein des activités de lutte contre la dégradation des sols dans la commune rurale de Simiri. Elle a pour objectifs spécifiques d’apprécier les types d’interventions qui sont menées dans la commune rurale de Simiri, de déterminer le rôle des femmes dans ces activités et d’évaluer la contribution de ces activités sur le statut productif des femmes bénéficiaires et sur les rapports de genre. Des outils d’enquêtes quantitatives et qualitatives sont mobilisés notamment des questionnaires, des entretiens et l’observation directe de terrain. Les résultats mettent en évidence une forte implication des femmes dans les activités, un renforcement de leur participation à la prise en charge matérielle du ménage et dans le processus de prise des décisions au sein de la famille.
