Women face issues of discrimination in public administration in South Kivu in terms of promotion, prejudices regarding their competence, wage inequalities compared to men, and discrimination in recruitment. This persists despite several legal instruments promoting women’s rights, notably UN Resolution 1325. Women are victims of stereotypes in their professional work and experience sexism in the workplace. Men tend to underestimate women’s competence, reinforcing biases against them and reducing equal opportunities between men and women, despite women’s academic performance often being better than that of men.

Abstract

Les femmes connaissent les problèmes de la discrimination dans l’administration publique au Sud-Kivu en termes de la promotion, de préjugés en termes de compétence, des inégalités salariales avec les hommes, dans les recrutements les femmes connaissent de discrimination, malgré plusieurs instruments juridiques de la promotion de droit de la femme à l’occurrence la résolution 1325 de l’ONU. Les femmes sont victimes de stéréotypes dans l’exercice de leur travail, les femmes sont victimes de sexisme dans leur travail, les hommes sous-estiment les femmes en termes de compétence, ce qui accentue les préjugés envers les femmes et déduit l’égalité de chance entre l’homme et la femme malgré le score scolaire de femmes meilleur que celui des hommes.
