The present paper is a reading of painting of Congolese miseries in «Mathématiques congolaises» by In Koli Jean Bofane; a Congolese writer who is passionate about Congolese literature over the last two decades. To cary out this study, we used sociocritical, thematic and pragmatic methods. The interest of this activity lies in the fact that the image of the Congolese as represented in this novel presents life in the Congo as a sterm and each one tries to draw his cassava from the fire. The article focuses on the infernal life in the Congo, its violence, painting and misery. The text focuses on the relevance of the words used in this novel.

Le présent article est une lecture de la peinture des misères congolaises dans «mathématiques congolaises» d’In Koli Jean Bofane ; un écrivain congolais passionné de la littérature congolaise de ces deux dernières décennies. Pour réaliser cette étude, nous avons fait recours aux méthodes thématique, sociocritique et pragmatique. L’intérêt de cette activité réside dans le fait que l’image du congolais telle que représentée dans ce roman présente la vie au Congo comme une tempête et chacun essaye de tirer son manioc du feu. L’article se favorise sur la vie infernale au Congo, sa violence, sa corruption et sa misère. Le texte s’intéresse sur la pertinence des mots utilisés dans le roman.
