The lack of sharing, organizing and reporting on water are among the obstacles to the implementation of the objectives of a significant number of scientific researches in Morocco. Especially as access to data and information on water held by the administration, is still not open to the general public. In this context the SAWIS Initiative was created to provide a platform for sharing data manages and maintained by a scientific association for the water information (SAWIS) systems. The purpose of this platform is to provide the scientific community, the methods and techniques for sharing data and enrich them with tools Open source GIS and conform to OGC standards (WMS, WFS, CSW). The present work aims to (1) present the context of the birth of SAWIS Initiative, (2) present the service-oriented architecture and functionalities of the platform and (3) present the results of a study cases with data from a pilot area, resulting from scientific work, to achieve a "SWEM Platform for Meknes region".

L'absence de partage, d'organisation et de la communication de l'information sur l'eau sont parmi les obstacles à la mise en œuvre des objectifs d'un nombre important des travaux de recherche scientifique au Maroc. Par ailleurs l'accès aux données et aux informations sur l'eau détenu par l'administration, n'est toujours pas ouvert au grand public. Dans ce contexte l'Initiative SAWIS a vu le jour pour proposer une plate forme de partage des données, gérée et maintenue par l'association scientifique pour les systèmes d'information d'eau (SAWIS). Le but de cette plate forme, est d'offrir à la communauté scientifique les moyens et techniques pour partager les données et les enrichir grâce à des outils SIG Open source, conformes aux standards OGC (WMS, WFS, CSW). Ce présent travail, à l'objectif de (1) présenter le contexte de la naissance de l'Initiative SAWIS, (2) présenter l'architecture orientée service et les différentes fonctionnalités de la plate forme et (3) présenter les résultats d'une étude de cas, avec les données d'une zone pilote de la région de Meknès au Maroc.
