This scientific publishing was about the phytochemical screening and evaluation of anti-diarrheic activity of aqueous and ethanol extracts of Spilanthes Mauritiana plant. The process consisted to the qualitative chemical analysis of natural substances contained in and anti-bacterial test of their aqueous and ethanol extracts on bacterial stumps. Final result showed that the plant contain 85% of researched actives ingredients, and 50% of these ingredient was efficient to bacterial stumps as are some witness anti diarrheic drugs. These justify the traditional treatment of diarrhea with Spilanthes Mauritiana.

Abstract: (french)
Le présent article consistait à réaliser un screening phytochimique et évaluer l’activité anti-diarrhéique des extraits aqueux et éthanoliques de la plante Spilanthes Mauritiana, une plante médicinale du Bushi. Pour y parvenir nous avons effectué une analyse chimique qualitative des substances contenues dans cette plante et un test d’activité anti diarrhéique sur les souches bactériennes responsables de la diarrhée. Les résultats obtenus ont montré que 85% des substances sont retrouvées dans les extraits de la plante, sur les 85% des plantes retrouvées, 50% ont une activité anti-diarrhéique. Ceci justifie l’utilisation traditionnelle de la plante dans le traitement des maladies diarrhéiques.
